The Asset Library is where all of the content (video, interstitial, ad filler and other files) that has been ingested into ViewNexa is organized. The Asset Library is accessed by clicking on the icon of a file folder with a magnifying glass in the left-hand navigation bar.
Searching For Assets
The left side of the Asset Library dashboard holds the search functionality, allowing you to filter through the assets for easier management and discovery. Read below to understand what each filter field does and how to enter data correctly for optimal search results.
Search and Filter Fields
Search Bar (text entry)
The Search text field supports full and partial keyword searches. ViewNexa returns videos with ALL of the words entered into the search bar. the fewer words you enter, the more assets with be returned in the search results.
Show Recently Ingested Assets (checkbox)
Use this check box to to prioritize recently uploaded assets in the search results.
Show Expired Assets (checkbox)
Use this check box to include expired assets in the search results. By default, ViewNexa filters expired assets from all searches when this box is NOT checked.
Include Audio Transcripts (checkbox)
Click the "Include Audio Transcripts" checkbox if you want to search every word spoken in the assets transcripts for your keyword(s).
Asset Types (dropdown list)
Make a selection from the Asset Types dropdown list to limit your search to one type of asset. See a full list of asset types below.
Tags (text entry)
Enter tags one at a time. You MUST click on a tag name in the dropdown list that appears as you type. If you don't see your tag in the list, keep typing to see if it will appear in the list of existing tags. If you have typed in the full tag name and still don't see it, that usually means the tag is not in use in the library. You can enter that tag for search by clicking the "TAB" button or the "ENTER" button on your keyboard. You will see the tag turn blue in the search field. If your tag is not blue, ViewNexa will not search for it.
If you enter more than one tag, ViewNexa will return assets containing ANY of the tags.
Categories (dropdown list)
The categories for each asset are fixed during your onboarding and typically do not change much. You can select one or multiple categories to include in your search. If you enter more than one category, ViewNexa will return assets containing ANY of the categories selected from the list.
Duration (hh:mm:ss entry boxes)
Enter min and max durations using the hours, minutes, and seconds format: hh:mm:ss. This is especially helpful to users who want to find ad fillers or interstitial files that are under a minute long.
Publication Date (mm/hh/yyyy date entry and range dropdown list)
The publication date is typically ingested as part of an asset’s pre-existing metadata. However, if an asset does not include a publication date, ViewNexa will automatically populate this required field with the ingest date.
Users can manually enter a publication date or select one from the calendar icon. To search for assets within a specific timeframe, enter a publication date and choose a range from the "Range" dropdown. For example, selecting a date of January 1, 2025, with a +/- one-week range, will return assets with publication dates between December 25, 2024, and January 8, 2025.
Ingest Date (mm/hh/yyyy date entry and range dropdown list)
The ingest date is not editable and is automatically populated during the ingest of the file to the ViewNexa asset library.
Users can manually enter an ingest date or select one from the calendar icon. To search for assets within a specific timeframe, enter an ingest date and choose a range from the "Range" dropdown. For example, selecting a date of January 1, 2025, with a +/- one-week range, will return assets with ingest dates between December 25, 2024, and January 8, 2025.
Expiry Date (mm/hh/yyyy date entry and range dropdown list)
The expiration date is an optional metadata field for your video assets. ViewNexa will not stream any asset to any end user after the set expiration date has passed, regardless of the channels that the asset might have been added to previously.
Users can manually enter an expiration date or select one from the calendar icon. To search for assets within a specific timeframe, enter an expiration date and choose a range from the "Range" dropdown. For example, selecting a date of January 1, 2025, with a +/- one-week range, will return assets with expiration dates between December 25, 2024, and January 8, 2025.
RESET Button (click)
Clicking the reset button will immediately remove all filters from the asset library and reset it to show all assets.
Search Button (click or press Enter on keyboard)
Once a user has entered all desired search terms and filters, the search can be initiated by either clicking on the Search button or pressing the "Enter" key. This will start the search and in a few moments, the search results will be returned in the asset list.
NOTE: If your search returns more than 10,000 results, the results over the 10,000 mark will not be displayed. The message “To improve performance of getting data in this range, please filter the list using the Search feature.” will be displayed. Use additional keywords, tags, publication date, etc. to narrow your search. |
