This article reviews how to manually upload videos, movies and series/seasons/episodes. If you are looking for information about how to use a JSON feed to send video files and all associated metadata to the ViewNexa asset library, please visit the help article, ViewNexa JSON Specifications.
Part 1: Uploading Videos
Step 1: Accessing the "Video Upload" Portal
From the left-hand navigation column in the ViewNexa Apps Dashboard, select "Content" and then "Videos" from the drop-down.
Step 2: Uploading Videos
From the video page, select the "Upload Video" button in the upper right side of the page.
From here you can select to add or drag and drop a single video file or multiple files to upload. There is a max file size of 5GB. Please contact your ViewNexa Customer Support if you need to upload a larger file size. You can also choose to add content that lives on your Dropbox account. Simply select "Choose from Dropbox" and sign in to your Dropbox account to get started. Note: ViewNexa's platform only accepts MP4 file format.
Step 3: Organizing Your Video
As your video uploads, you can give it a name, a description, tags, and assign it a channel. Once the video is uploaded you will also have the option of choosing an auto-generated thumbnail. You may also choose to upload one yourself.
Step 4: Channel Selection
All of your videos, movies and episodes are organized into Channels. When you upload a video you must add it to at least one Channel. Assets can be added to a pre-existing Channel, or a new channel can be created on the fly. These two options are available in a drop-down menu accessed by clicking on the box "Channels" on the Video Details page.
Step 5: Geoblocking
Geoblocking allows restricts an asset's availability in countries specified by the Customer. From the Geoblocking drop-down, select "Allow in the following countries" to only allow access to the asset in certain countries. Select "Block in the following countries" to restrict availability of the asset in specific countries. Enter the country(s) in the text entry field.
Part 2: Uploading a Movie
Step 1: Accessing the "Movie Upload" Portal
From the ViewNexa dashboard, select "Content" and then Movies from the drop-down. If you don't see "Movies" in your dashboard, contact your Onboarding Engineer and request activation.
Step 2: Uploading Movies
From the Movies page, select the "Upload Movie" button in the upper right side of the page.
From here you can select to add or drag and drop a single movie file or multiple files to upload. There is a max file size of 5GB. Please contact your Solutions Engineer if you need to upload a larger file size. You can also choose to add content that lives on your Dropbox account. Simply select "Choose from Dropbox" and sign in to your Dropbox account to get started. Note: ViewNexa only accepts MP4 file format.
Step 3: Organizing Your Movie
From here you can add a Poster image, Background image, and custom Thumbnail. You can then add a title, description, information about the cast and crew, rating, release year, tags, and genre, as well as assign it to channels. Once you have filled out all the information about your movie and uploaded the proper images, hit "Save" in the upper right corner.
Step 4: Adding Extra Features
Extra features, like trailers or deleted scenes, can be added to any movie. From within the Movie Details page illustrated above, click on the "Extras" tab along the top left. Once here, click "Add Extra" and upload your content.
Part 3: Uploading a Series
Step 1: Accessing the "Series Upload" Portal
From the ViewNexa dashboard, select "Content" and then Series from the drop-down. If you don't see "Series" in your dashboard, contact your Onboarding Engineer and request activation.
Step 2: Uploading Series
From the Series page, select the "Add Series" button in the upper right side of the page.
From here you can add the appropriate series metadata, including a series poster and background image.
Step 3: Adding Seasons/Episodes
Once you've created a series, it will show up in the series section. Select the gear icon next to your newly created series to add seasons and episodes.
From here you will be presented with a page to further edit the series metadata. To add seasons and episodes, select the "Seasons" tab.
Next, select "Add Season" and then click the "Manage Episodes" drop-down. Then you can select "Add Episode" to add your series content. There is a max file size of 5GB. Please contact your Solutions Engineer if you need to upload a larger file size. You can also choose to add content that lives on your Dropbox account. Simply select "Choose from Dropbox" and sign in to your Dropbox account to get started. Note: ViewNexa only accepts MP4 file format.
